At 135 metres, the London Eye is the world's tallest observation wheel, with 40 kilometre panoramic views on clear day. The gradual flight in one of the 32 high-tech glass capsules takes approximately 30 minutes and offers spectacular views of London and its famous landmarks such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and St Paul's Cathedral. For a different perspective visit at sunset and see the city lights come on and the skyline awash with vibrant colours. Brainchild of David and Julia Barfield, the London Eye is the largest observation wheel in the world. The Eye used 1,700 tonnes of steel, was constructed in just 16 months and the capsules have the ability to carry over 15,000 visitors a day.
The London Eye is the perfect way to view London and some of the city's most famous sights - on a clear day you can see up to 25 miles away in every direction as the glass capsules move you 135 metres above London. The gradual flight takes approximately 30 minutes.
