East End Meets West End

High School Musical

The first of the London cast for High School Musical has been announced. EastEnders actress Letitia Dean (Sharon Watts) will take the role of drama teacher, Ms Darbus.

Well known for her television role as the brassy barmaid Sharon Watts, Letitia Dean will take to the stage at the Hammersmith Apollo for the West End production of High School Musical. No stranger to acting and a former Sylvia Young pupil, Dean is said to be "absolutely delighted to be playing Ms Darbus".

High School Musical is based upon the Disney television movie of the same name that spurred a legion of fans. Troy, captain of the basketball team and Gabriella a recent transfer student with an aptitude for academia discover a shared passion for singing. Both decide to audition for the lead roles in the up and coming high school musical, little do they know that their decision will unsettle the social order of the school and unleash a plan to sabotage their stage debut.

This eagerly anticipated musical opens at the Hammersmith Apollo in June of this year, running for just a few weeks. Tickets can be purchased online with Show and Stay, book today to avoid disappointment.
