Nancy Niamh to be in Brand New Musical

Niamh

Unlucky I'd Do Anything finalist Niamh Perry is to star alongside Keith Jack in the new musical Only the Brave at the Edinburgh Fringe

Starring fellow talent show cast-off Keith Jack, Only the Brave is set to ignite the festival in its short run. Premiering at the George Square Theatre on 31st July, the new musical will be performed until the 25th August.

Local Edinburgh lad Keith Jack made it through to the final of BBC1's Any Dream Will Do but lost out to Essex's Lee Mead. After a brief stint in the touring production of Joseph and recording a solo album, Keith will take on the role of 'Charlie', a British soldier wounded in the Second World War. Perry plays 'Belle', the beautiful French Nurse that looks after Charlie and eventually falls in love with him.

Based on real life events, Only the Brave features music by Matthew Bind, lyrics by Stephen Coleman and Matthew Brind and a book by Coleman and Rachel Wagstaff. Inspired by a trip Brind took to the old battlefields of Northern France with his veteran grandfather, this emotional story was painstakingly worked on for 10 years before it was ready for production.

Though she missed out on taking the lead in Cameron Mackintosh's West End revival of Oliver!, we here at Show and Stay® are huge fans of the young Niamh Perry and are sure her new project is going to be one of the highlights of this year's festival. Keep a look out for Niamh's move to the West End which cannot be too far away
