More Cast Changes In Wicked

Wicked, the magical musical that's proven to be immensely popular on London's West End, has announced further cast changes effective from Monday 9th June.

At Show and Stay we've already bought you the news that Alexia Khadime and Desmond Barrit will be joining the cast as Elphaba and The Wizard respectively. From Monday June 9th original cast member Caroline Keiff will take over the role of Nessarose and Jeremy Legat will play Boq. Ashleigh Gray will become Standby Elphaba as Cassidy Janson departs.

Current Elphaba Kerry Ellis will be taking her last bow before heading to America on Saturday 7th June. Ellis will recreate her role on the Broadway stage before returning to the UK production from Monday December 1st. Cast members Dianne Pilkington (Glinda), Oliver Tompsett (Fiyero), Andy Mace (Doctor Dillamond) and Sarah Earnshaw (Standby Glinda) all remain in their roles having recently extended their contracts.

Harriet Thorpe will be joining the cast from Monday 14th April as Madame Morrible.

Following previews form 7 September, Wicked opened at the Apollo Victoria Theatre on September 27 2006 to positive reviews and much anticipation. The show has recently celebrated 600 performances and been seen by more than 1.2 million people. An astounding and popular success, Wicked tells the story of Oz long before the arrival of Dorothy and Toto.
