The History of The Victoria Palace Theatre

There had been a music hall on the site of the Victoria Palace Theatre for nearly 100 years before it became a theatre in 1934. A Statue of the famous ballet dancer Pavlova once graced the top of the theatre but it was removed for safety during the second World War and has since vanished without trace.

The first live broadcast was aired from the theatre during the 1939 of the production The Lambeth Walk. Since its opening the Victoria Palace has been home to many great musicals including Me and My Girl, The Crazy Gang, Carry On London, The Buddy Holly Story and Jolson (1995-97).
